Lisa Wilkinson knows that knowledge is power when it comes to health
Lisa Wilkinson, co-host of the Nine Network Today Show, is proud to be the ambassador of the Australian Women’s Health Diary and is only too aware of the importance of breast health.
Lisa recently underwent a screening mammogram live on the Today program and was asked to return for further tests before being given the all clear. By sharing her experience, Lisa wanted to encourage women to look after their general health and wellbeing and sees the Australian Women’s Health Diary as a vital tool to help women of all ages to do this.
“I am a firm believer that knowledge is power which is why I wanted to encourage women to have regular mammography screening,” says Lisa. “This fantastic diary takes this to the next step giving women the information they need to improve their own health as well as the power to change the future for women diagnosed with breast cancer through research.”
Since 1999 the Australian Women’s Health Diary has raised $9 million for the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia to support clinical trials research for the treatment, cure and prevention of breast cancer. This research is critical to saving more lives by ensuring new and promising breast cancer treatments are available to those who need them most.
“This diary is a lifesaver – in more ways than one,” says Lisa. “The health information is easy to read and really helpful, and all the usual diary features mean you can keep on top of important dates including scheduling health checks or reminders like checking your breasts regularly. Best of all, when you buy the diary you’ll be supporting breast cancer research to help save and improve lives – maybe even your own life, or the life of someone you love.”
The diary is great value at just $14.95 – and with its beautiful cover and bonus pink pen, it’s the perfect Christmas gift for family and friends.
The 2014 Australian Women’s Health Diary is available now from Commonwealth Bank branches, newsagents, selected Woolworths supermarkets, BIG W, Newslink and RELAY, and Avon Representatives. It can also be purchased online at www.bcia.org.au or by calling 1800 423 444.
